Today I learned to edit audio files!
Having a look around, Audacity seemed to be the most popular free, open source, cross-platform audio editing software. However, I chose to download and learn Ocenaudio, a similar utility which appeared to be easier for a beginner to use.
As ever, YouTube had some very helpful video tutorials, including these three.
Once I got the hang of creating markers (a point in the recording) and regions (a period of time in the recording), I was good to go and found navigating quite straightforward.
Bonus:
Here’s the AudioIgniter WordPress plugin I chose to present a playlist of audio clips, as a step up from WordPress’s included player.
The clips are a series of glorious copyright free sound effects from the YouTube Audio Library. And Handel’s Messiah.
